when will acm icpc 2017 online results will be published?????

Can anybody please explain the Amritapuri Selection Criteria? Is it-

  1. All top ranked teams from a institution are selected first.
  2. All teams who have solved all 5 problems are also selected.
  3. If seats are remaining, then the teams who have solved at least 3 problems are selected till the seats get filled up.

Am I right?

I too interpreted same.

Amritapuri is not clear in the explanation of the selection criteria

@boxisgreat The first selection criteria is top team from each institution with at least one correct answer is selected first. “After” applying this criteria they will use their 10% rule only on teams that have solved at least three problems. I wonder how they will do that since slots are 250 and unique solvers are 269.

Slots are 250 and unique institutions are 269!
I wonder how they will do it.
And regarding your third point, they’ll make sure that not more 10% teams are taken from a single institution.

Does the 3rd point even hold good? 269 unique college teams have solved at least one problem. So seats are already filled up even before they can select based on point no. 3

These 4.5 hrs will be dreaded to cut for you I guess :stuck_out_tongue: (Assuming something unexpected doesnt lead to *cough* further delays)

@vijju123 Amritapuri haven’t announced the time of result announcement. We might have to wait more than 4.5 hours :3

I think teams will be selected by third criteria only when some of teams gives up. That is third criteria will be applied in second or later shortlist.

What about the selection criteria of Chennai Region? Any Ideas?

No idea about Chennai. Last year Chennai had followed 90-30 rule. 90 teams will be selected based on “first from the institute rule” and then top 30 teams based on rank will be selected after removing these 90 teams. Don’t know if they will follow the same this year. They haven’t mentioned anything on their site.

Hey Community! Overall rank 1547 , college rank 1 , site Gwalior. What are our chances?

@nileshjha19 My bad i read it wrong then therell be no slots left

I am not sure what strategy is followed to separate out the copied solutions. And you’re right. The solutions for the second and third problem follow only one strategy overall, regardless of it being copied.

The method to sort out the copied answers was obviously erroneous, since the people who were mailed about their solutions being copied (for the scholarships based on November Long) reported on Discuss that the strategies were either same(like people printing “-1 -1” for the Challenge Problem) or that they were by chance similar.

With 70-100 seats in Gwalior, chances seem low. Last year Chennai closed at 800ish Rank with 120 seats, I expect Gwalior to close around 1200ish Rank.

Hope we get the results by today 6:00 pm !!

I was almost lost for a sec @boxisgreat. Don’t read like that:) We solved only one problem.

Will we get results for all regionals or just Amritapuri and Kolkata today?

I ran a script on the baylor site and it came to around 180 unique colleges, then how come 269 unique college teams solved at least one sum? :open_mouth:

First let’s hope that we will get results by today :stuck_out_tongue:
