Regarding problem statement for hackathon

Following is mention in the “How to participate?” section of the contest page:

  • CodeChef API access and documentation will be launched on 27th August, along with the problem statement.

My question is whether we will be getting a specified problem which we have to solve/code or can we implement/code our own idea?

“The CodeChef API will be launched when the contest starts, along with more details about the competition.”
