what are imprtant CODING INGREDIENTS?

i am organizing an event named code ingredients in our college.
In this event we are planning to give coding ingredients to participants in bowls
as if they are making a recipe.
We are planning to keep 3-4 bowls
first 2 bowls will contain data structures.
next will contain given input and required output

but is there any other better and innovative way of conducting an event like this.
we have to follow the analogy of a chef cooking a recipe…
very urgently help required
